Sitting

Today I just do not feel like me. So fyi-I am alive, I am Blessed, I am here.
I took this quote from Durl's page...because for some reason I feel like this quote today was directed at me. I've heard it a million times but today..I listened.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

By Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles

I have been reading your blog since you first started and I’d like to comment now if I could. I have always liked that quote. I saw it in Coach Carter, if you feel that way then by all means you need to let your light shine. I’ve read your blog, and I agree with the consensus-I even agree with your own muses. There is something special about you. It was evident in your back and forth trials with your roommate, it was evident when you opted to say “Dear God,” rather than fuck the world. (Excuse my harshness, but I’ve grown to feel as though you are a friend in my head.) I think you have the power to let your light shine and it’s only a matter of time before that happens. I listened to your music both on this site and at the Apache Café—yes I am aware of who you are. I’ve read your poetry as well as your words in random thought and I believe you are capable of so much. It is now your time to unconsciously give other people permission to shine as they began to watch you shine. I remember reading your article at the Apache Café in which you said, I don’t have fans. So I will end this…

This was wonderful and a GREAT reminder...we are here! like Honey said..."I am black, I may even be ugly, but by GOD I am HERE!" and we need to just really understand that no matter what life may bring, no matter what others may think, or how things happen, by GOD we are here! We are perfectly imperfect...perfect in our own imperfections...so be loved, to be adored...if not by anyone else, by ourselves!

Stay up sis
